Stewardship work and community outreach | Waterfront Ambassadors photo diary
During their second-to-last week of this year’s summer program, the Waterfront Ambassadors attended a youth coalition event hosted by the Boston Harbor Initiative (BHI). The event provided the Ambassadors with a chance to meet like-minded environmentally focused youth groups, and share their work and projects from throughout the summer.
During the coalition event the Ambassadors distributed surveys as part of an ongoing outreach project to discover what the City’s youth would like to see at Piers Park III, including future programming and design elements. The Ambassadors also had the opportunity this week to work with Kannan Thiruvengadam, Director of Eastie Farm. The teens helped with weeding and transporting plants in Eastie Farm’s “The Secret Garden,” and painted a message to share with the public about climate change, greenhouse gases, and air pollution.
