Summer program draws to a close | Waterfront Ambassadors Photo Diary

The Ambassadors summer program drew to a close this week, after a busy and fun summer in and around the East Boston waterfront.

Week seven included two events—one designed and hosted by the Ambassadors themselves, a youth-led walking tour with information about Piers Park history, local climate change impact projections, and plans for the future Piers Park III. Youth from around East Boston took part in the tour, which also included a scavenger hunt with prizes and frozen treats. Eastie Pride Day was another highlight of the week, where Ambassadors enjoyed the festivities, met many different people, and continued community outreach around Piers Park III by answering questions and collecting ideas for the park’s design and future programming.

“This summer was so busy, full of great learning and work opportunities,” said Waterfront Ambassadors Program Manager Alma Acuna. “This program is so unique and full of valuable takeaways for the Ambassadors, strengthening their confidence and skill sets in many ways including in community outreach. This summer’s group learned so much about the Piers Park III project, and shared in the excitement of this work—they are looking forward to seeing what’s next!”
