Week One: Waterfront Ambassadors

What do you want to get out of this program and what are you looking forward to this summer?  

Maemae: This summer, I want to be able to learn how to fight for issues in my own community and how to advocate/bring awareness to others about them. l also think by being a trustees ambassador, I'll be able to stay active throughout the summer and stay in the outdoors rather than the indoors. My favorite moment so far has been the farmers market, as it's been extremely relaxing and care-free. l've also been able to communicate with other ambassadors and strengthen our relationships. Im looking most forward to hopefully building new friendships with the other ambassadors and just staying active and outdoors.

Alex: I hope to learn more about climate issues facing communities in Boston. So far my favorite moment was the workshop with Dennis and Mikayla (i probably spelled her name wrong). I am looking forward to visiting the harbor islands.

Al: what I want to get out of is this being outdoors since Im always in my room doing nothing. My favorite moment so far is visiting Piers Park and learning its history. Im looking forward to visiting peaceful places.

Sox: I want to gain Knowlege from this Program. 
my far moment so far is playing card games during the day. 
I'm looking forward to the eelgrass visit and the beaches.

Thao: I want to make more connections & friendship through this program. Furthermore, I want to use to opportunity to be more engaging with the community. My favorite moment so far is the workshop with Ddenis & Mikhaela it give us an opportunity to engage and share ideas. I’m looking forward to fishing on a boat but also going to different Trustee’s property.

Loc: I want to make an impact on my community by advocating for waterfront spaces and educating others about the importance of green and blue spaces. My favorite moment so far is the farmers market because I get to see how connected the community is, different fresh fruits, vegetables, and seafood, and educating the community about our nonprofit. I’m really looking forward to going to Crane Beach, visiting the aquarium, and tabling at the farmers.

Naomi: I want to learn more about the environment and help the community that is affected by the heat island effect. My favorite moment so far has been when we went to the greenway and painted the light posts. I am most looking forward to the aquarium trip!

Kessily: Out of this program, I hope to gain more experiences with community interaction. I also hope to learn about the environmental field, including how I can play a part in it. My favorite moment so far has been visiting Piers Park, I loved having some outside time since it’s what I enjoy most about this program! This summer, I’m looking forward to visiting the New England Aquarium and interacting with animals at farms.

Isabella: What i want to get out of this program is the ability to be more social and to be able to make the environment better and cleaner. My favorite moment so far is the farmers market because we got to plant our own seeds and entertain the little kids. I’m looking forward to going to the islands and beaches and being able to swim in these places.

Ava: I want to learn more about the environment and help the community I live in throughout this program. My favorite moment so far was painting the lamps at the greenway. I am looking forward to visiting New England aquarium and spectacle island.

Ayah: I hope to get some new experiences and learn more about the environment through this program. My favorite moment so far was painting the lamps in the greenway and I look forward to visiting the islands this summer!
